Hi, I’m Dr. Kristi and I’m so happy you’re here!
Many years ago, I embarked on this journey to become a Naturopathic Medical Doctor. I followed this calling because it perfectly resonates with how I view healing of the human body: whole person approach – body, mind & spirit, understanding the root cause(s) of illnesses and disease, using natural, effective, evidence based therapies to promote long term healing and preventative medicine to keep illnesses and diseases from returning. It is my mission and passion to create a greater impact with others across this world and communicate what I have observed and learned from patients over the years. It is also my goal to share my own healing transformations with the purposeful intent of becoming a leader, guide and a source of inspiration to others.
So that I can better understand, evaluate and give recommendations to patients, I ask detailed and specific questions to unearth the causes and correlations of why they have symptoms or have been diagnosed with a medical condition. In some cases, it has yet to be uncovered. I am infinitely fascinated with the intelligence, mystery and self healing mechanism of the human body and I enjoy teaching others how to help themselves recover. From our oscillating hormones, dynamic gut microbiome, powerful muscles, life-giving heart and brilliant, unlimited brain, it is the synergy of our body systems, mind and spirit that continue to amaze me.
Throughout my life, I have struggled with my health and have had many of those challenges treated with this healing medicine. From menstrual irregularities, PMS, cystic acne, migraine headaches, IBS and food sensitivities, refined carbohydrate addiction, chronic sinusitis, severe insomnia and a period of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) with subsequent depression and anxiety. With the supportive expertise from a variety of practitioners – Naturopathic Medical Doctors, Conventional MD’s, Acupuncturists, Therapists, Chiropractors, Massage Therapists, Personal Trainers, Business Coaches – I have repeatedly helped my body and mind. I wholeheartedly believe in an integrative, collaborative approach to healing the whole person.
Education: I received a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in the beautiful Pacific Northwest – Seattle, Washington. Bastyr University is a leading accredited institution comprised of rigorous science based programs, clinical research and evidence based natural medicine therapeutics to treat the whole body . Previous to becoming a doctor, I received a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Food Science from California State University, Chico. It is my committed belief that a balanced, nutritious diet is the foundation to vibrant health and longevity. Nutrition continues to be a passion that I instill with patients and practice in my own life.
Before starting a business and medical practice in California, I worked in a reputable, successful integrative medical clinic in the greater Seattle area for several years. Within this collaborative clinic of experienced doctors and practitioners, I had the fortuitous opportunity to learn from one of the most successful integrative medical doctors on bio-identical hormone therapy, urine hormone testing, safe and effective compounded hormone prescriptions and evidence based nutritional medicine therapies.
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, my life’s journey has taken me to many places I called home. Currently based in Northern California, I am surrounded by beautiful nature to explore an abundance of hiking trails, lakes, rivers, mountains and the Pacific Ocean.
Being physically active is essential for my entire well-being. The rejuvenating and stress relieving effects of exercise does not compare to a special fad diet, pill, capsule or any external influence. From strength training and cardiovascular classes to yoga, swimming, hiking, biking, paddle boarding, water and snow skiing, exercise is my balancing medium for strength, endurance, clarity, insight and serenity.
Developing a love for cooking since I was 9 years old, I am a true foodie and feel most creative the kitchen. While I appreciate all culinary cuisines from across the world, my diet has evolved to focus around the healthy long term practice of the Paleo Diet.
